Cat Care Assistant
Feed, provide clean water, change litter trays, clean, and provide general care to the cats and kittens in our mini-shelter at Dodges Ferry.
This is a moderately physical job that involves lifting, bending, sweeping etc.
We are looking for reliable people who can commit to 2 hours a week or fortnight either in the morning or evening and aren't afraid of doing a bit of hard work and getting their hands dirty!
All training provided but if you have experience in caring for cats / kittens, this will be an advantage.

Event Support
We regularly hold pop-up adoption days, attend markets and other events and are looking for people to be part of our events team.
This will involve helping with set-up and pack-down, attending events as a Birchgrove representative, and assisting with fundraising (selling Birch Merch, raffle tickets etc.). It may also include helping with organising events and advertising (putting up flyers, posting on Facebook etc.).
We are looking for reliable people with some availability on weekends and evenings, own transportation, and a willingness to engage with the public and learn about our cat rescue work.
-
Administrative Support
Birchgrove administrative work is varied and can all be done remotely. The tasks may include:
Updating our website
Using our cat management database (training provided)
Creating Canva flyers and social media content
Supporting fundraising administration
Preparing paperwork for adoption packs
Completing microchip transfer applications
You don’t need to have experience in all of these, but just some general computer / tech skills and a willingness to learn.
Other opportunities
The volunteer opportunities above are just some of the areas we need help with at Birchgrove. If you're interested in volunteering with us but aren't sure what you want to do, or you have a particular skill set that you think might be an asset to our team, please contact us and we can have a chat.
